in the 1700s man began to take wat he calls " freedom " , probably with the french revolution , then spreading worldwide ...
But fact is that the slavery the humans where in , the physical slavery , has changed into a mental slavery , that means we ddnt get freedom , but slavery was changed from a kind to another ... we are being enslaved with MEDIA ! , media can set up ur principles , can make u do things u would never be convinced in it , it can make u buy things u dont need , its can direct ur political and economical beliefs , take u anywhere ... so basically we ddnt get freedom at all , which one of us is not affected by the media ?? No one ...

I was just discussing this today
Anyway....No we aren't free,especially here in the Arab world,and the whole world in general.
Long ago,Arabs used to be strong because they used their mind ,today they act like brainwashed sheep.
And it's not just Arabs,because these days,whoever is strong controls the weak ,and we aren't in a strong position at the moment .
A big reason for this weakness is that we are slowly losing our language and traditions....and here's where the media comes in.
The media shows you what it wants you to see,blinding you from everything else.
It makes you buy things you don't need,it makes you change your views on some things,and I'm not saying that the media is necessarily bad,but it's affecting us very negatively in some areas
So today....our freedom is like the freedom of an ant in a forest full of elephants

Most people are affected by the media but that doesn't mean that they are stupid. You have to keep in mind that TV networks use professional psychologists in order to know how to deliver a brainwashing massage to people.

Actually this fact doesnt apply to us lebanese because we arent a consommatrice society like per say the american one. The american economy relies on people getting out their houses everyday to buy useless things that they dont need, of course the wages that they get enable this fact. Of course in lebanon this reality of wages doesnt apply to almost 70% of the population, thus spending most of their money on basic needs and almost forgetting complementary and secondary items.
