![]() The Emperor has sensationally confirmed that he wants to momentarily part ways with football. Inter’s Brazilian striker Adriano has stunned the football world by declaring that he wants to quit football for the time being to allow himself to sort his own personal issues out. This latest saga came about when the ‘Emperor’, who was supposed to return to Italy last weekend following the international break, failed to do so, as he supposedly missed his initial flight. He has been with his family in Brazil ever since, and he has also just spoken in a press conference where he made these sensational claims concerning his immediate future. “Right now, I am only thinking about my health,” Adriano confessed to Sky Sport24. “This is my reasoning behind why I want to stop playing football, at least temporarily anyway. “I have lost the passion to play,” Adriano added, in relation to the fact that he is solely focused on dealing with his own personal problems for now. The 27-year-old went on to discuss his current contract with the Nerazzurri, and that he is prepared to sacrifice that as well. “I am prepared to give up the money of my salary if need be.” Recent reports have suggested that Adriano is suffering from a form of depression since his recent break up with his girlfriend. If this is to be the case, then hopefully for his sake he can make a speedy recovery. |

FC Internazionale Milano have announced that Adriano has played his last game for the club after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Unsettled "We send him a hug from the whole club for the eight years and 74 goals he shared with us," the Nerazzurri said in a statement as they announced the departure of the Brazilian international 14 months before his contract was due to expire. The 27-year-old has struggled in his last three seasons at Inter, having initially made a huge impression after signing from CR Flamengo in 2001 following successful loan spells in Italy at ACF Fiorentina and, more significantly, Parma FC. He spent much of last season on loan at Săo Paulo FC, scoring 16 goals, but was again out of sorts on his return to Italy. 'Right decision' Troubled by off-field issues, Adriano failed to return from international duty at the beginning of April and earlier this week Inter president Massimo Moratti suggested his time as an Inter player was almost over. "It would be the right decision," said Moratti. "We cannot force people to change the decisions they take about their own lives." Adriano, who has scored 27 goals in 43 internationals, has registered five times this season, his last for the club coming in a 2-1 victory against AC Milan in February. |
