we had every single intention of sending him to a sanctuary abroad once he got better, but his weak body couldn't handle the illness anymore . what comforts me personally is that he died in his sleep, knowing that his rescuers were there beside him

I totally agree with systa...I've never seen a pig rescuing a gazelle or a cat feeding a dolphin but humans are so important now they want to take responsibility for everything. Let nature take its course of action. Animals will suffer and die so that this plane can fit more of us stinky humans, there Is nothing u can do about it.
