Roudy and "Google", the comparison between twitter and google is useless that's why i used the watch / apple example since each has different functionality, then showed "Google" that twitter beats google in real time feeds since it has a different job.

I still don't understand why he "Google" compared them in the first place.

The problem is that people are so used to facebook that they keep thinking that twitter's job is to get people's mood and post it online in 140 characters.

I know a Lebanese stock trader that uses twitter as main source of information since he follows important people that post real time analysis of the market.

I follow web developers to stay updated about the latest releases.

Ba3den what's the matter of being fanatic pro this more than that, i am a BIG Google fan and user since ages but i can't find why should i compare it to twitter or why i should think it's useless comparing to google.

You can if everyone's profile was public on facebook and of course if you can follow a friend without him following u and of course if you can post feeds from your website to twitter and the way around. If twitter was as facebook, Iran would have blocked the website and it was over, but you can access the website from multiple sources which makes it almost impossible to block.

I second xcoder, twitter has a different concept from facebook/google.
Personally i dont use it to post my feelings, i use it as an advanced "keep me updated" i follow web developer and companies related to security and hosting business.
Well i admit that it gave me lots of critical info that if i want to search about it it will take me ages.

u can still follow fan pages on facebook, they will give you the same information. i'm not against the use of twitter, but i'm saying that alternatives exist and t hat google's size is way bigger than twitter, it's like comparing an ant to an elephant, that was the reason of comparing them.

Currently, there's no alternatives to twitter, facebook is a website twitter is a protocol and that's a huge difference.

And you guys should be less fanatic about your choices, no need to compare elephants to ants when talking about animals.
