Google Plus, it alerts you when you receive a new email on Gmail.

I Have gtalk installed, it does that and it shows me the sender, and a little preview of the email. super.

Yeah i know, but for example in my case i use my Gmail account with WLM, so instead of using both Gtalk and WLM i use this script to be notified when i receive a new email.
