As far as i understood today, the new upgrade will reach 10gbps making a total of 12.5gbps since we already have 2.5gbps. That's way less than i expected or promised.
Anything is better than the current crap we have anyway.

I read it was 400 gb not an extra 10! an extra 10 would do nothing, our quota will what? move to 12 GB instead of 3? and we'd have 512 instead of 256?
but anyway at this point I just want to see something happen... be3ouna 7aké for 3 years(the fpm ministers specifically) come on, show us

Source : Al Akhbar |

Broadband and 3G are different things. No way it could've been installed in three months, lol, not in lebanon..needs to years at least (don't believe those f#ckers). 3G is wireless and it could be implemented soon, but I'm sure they'll charge insane ammounts for it, and remember 3G is quota limited.

The internet problem in Lebanon has many reasons, the first bottleneck that they were talking about will be removed allowing more bandwidth for the entire country.
However, other bottlenecks are still present, the internal network is quite old and limited and fiber-optics have to be installed to improve connectivity (bandwidth and latency). As for the 3G, it's totally another story since it doesn't pass through the network i talked about above, it's a wireless service with higher latency and lower bandwidth capabilities comparing to the fiber-optics infrastructure. As far as i understood 3.5G can provide up to 21.5mbps, however we all know such speeds won't be provided, i expect something between 512kbps and 1mbps max with high prices that will decrease eventually. I'm glad that something is being done to improve this sector, i will hold my hopes and expectations based on the current government poor services and projects. Fingers crossed... toes too!
