As far as I know subscribers went up from 56millions up to 73millions year over year 5 months ago.

im not talking about increase in sales , im talking about their market share , theyr losing sales to other phones.
this is a link for sales q32010 to q32011 , http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=1848514 , they went down from 3% to 2.9% this year only , i cant find the other link for total market share , but bb is taking huge hits , its stock price is flying down , theyr hoping that BBX could save them.

Not sure if you are aware, but BB is the first phone that introduced data and e-mailing to the mobile world which is why it was called a smartphone. BB was created and it main purpose is for business and security use.

Year over year BB sales and subscribers are increasing. What is going on is that the whole smartphone market is being adopted by more people what obviously will make it look like people are going from BBs to other phones.

Stocks are undervalued and are going down only because of the bad media. As a company their profit is steadily increasing year to year and they are the only company in the mobile industry with no debt.

X, what smart phone you want is something that would come down to what you will be using it for.

What distinguish the BBs from any other smartphone is the real time messaging and security and of course the famous keyboard. No other phone delivers the same e-mailing and messaging experience and the reason being is that BB was built from ground up on the enterprise servers and exchange which makes you receive your e-mails to your phone even before you receive them on your computer.

As for security, all I can say is that BB devices (mobiles and tablet) are the only devices that are certified for governments and governmental institutions use around the world. As to why?

If you are looking for a phone to do work on and e-mailing with security in mind, BB is your first choice. if you want your phone for media and browsing, BB will not be your first choice although that gap is getting smaller and smaller where media and browsing on the new BB7 devices is much better and so close if not the same as iOS or droid phones.
