Well i received amazon newsletter in my mail, i found something new, called the eye-fi, i searched about it and was impressed and thought about sharing some info.

So what is Eye-FI

Eye-Fi is a company based in Mountain View, California that produces SD memory cards and SDHC cards with wi-fi capabilities. Using an Eye-Fi card inside a camera, one can wirelessly and automatically upload digital photos to a local computer (running Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X). Some models also allow for uploading photos to photo sharing, blogging and social networking sites such as Flickr, Picasa, Facebook and PhotoBucket;[1] and some models also allow for uploading videos, both to a personal computer and to YouTube.[2]

Eye-Fi currently produces eight models of cards: "Home", "Share", "Geo", which hold 2 GB of memory. "Home Video", "Share Video", "Explore Video", "Pro" and "Connect X2" hold 4 GB. The "Explore X2" and "Pro X2" hold 8GB of memory.[3]

"Share" versions allow uploading to various photo-sharing websites. The "Share Video" card allows uploading videos as well. The "Pro" adds RAW image support and peer-to-peer or ad-hoc networking. "Pro X2" adds class 6 read & write speeds, 802.11n and a new feature named "Endless Memory Mode".

Certain cards offer photo geotagging (WPS) through a relationship with Skyhook Wireless and hotspot access through a relationship with DeviceScape at AT&T Wi-Fi. The location is not locally recorded in conventional Exif coordinate form, but is inserted into Exif upon upload.

yeah basically it's a SD CARD that transfers the photo from inside your camera to your pc via network and has much more features. i found it really impressive and brilliant.

price is still a bit expensive around 40 british pounds for the 4GB card

Waaaw! its amazing invention...even if I again agaisnt the feature of geotagging due to some security issues (but can be cool for other issues)... is there any in lebanon?
