Default lebanese hypocrisy?

in lebanon we always used to complain about tada5ol 5arigi in our affairs and our elections and in making our demands and protests useless. isn't it exactly what we are doing now to the syrian people?

the syrians have been protesting for months now, under fire from their army and total isolation and discrimination from their government. and several people have died, and we in lebanon keep supporting the regime and ignoring the people who died.

around 2000 people in syria have died so far, and we keep saying only a minority does not want the president. when all they are asking for is an election, and let us see who is the minority and majority is

there is around 22 million people in syria, they are not our slaves, they do not exist to serve our interest, we the 4 million people of lebanon. I think what we are doing so far is very wrong, it would definetly not be the case if syria was an ally to israel. so don't complain about foreign interference anymore. even we forget all about justice and democracy when our interests are in the balance

We are in real world not utopia, if the syrian regime falls the Lebanese and precisely the Christians will vanish.

Bashar al Assad should stay, he is a garanty for the existence of the Christians in the middle east,

Are You expecting a Good Salafit to come and spread love and peace?

Man Christians for salafit and Ekhwan Muslimine are considered Kouffar!!

Now we have 2000 victim, believe me the day the Baath regime will fall we will witness another Iraq in syria with 1000 victim daily!

I agree with you Sheriff that will come after Bashar will be worse, but at the same time you can't turn a blind eye to what has happened so far. There is a website called liveleak.com, if you go there you will find what's really happening in Syria.

And I agree with mr_j too, this is where our peoples hypocrisy really shines. Did they want Mubarak to fall because he was a dictator who oppressed his people or was it because he had a good relationship with Israel?
Because right now the only difference between Mubarak and Bashar is that the former likes Israel and the latter does not.

the christians in egypt seem to be ok now. the christians in syria would be in trouble in the future but only because they stood with the dictator and not with their fellow citizens...

also when we were protesting against seniora the media said it is a hizbollah protest and they want to bring 5iléfé islémiyé to lebanon midré chou. clearly back then that was not true, and the protests in syria are for an election and economic reforms and stuff, aren't we doing the same thign that was done to us by simply saying it is a primitive islamic revolution and shutting them down?

also for how long will we be protecting dictatorships under the banner of "the christians need it" is this what the christians of the middle east stand for now? oppressing other majority religions forever so they can feel safer? if the existence of non muslims in the middle east relies on the existence of one dictator in power, we might as well leave now, barké yo2rot mawté el zalamé in a heart attack anyway this is exactly what israel is doing. israel supported dictatorships in the region to protect itself, now we are no better.
