With my respect for all the arabic people and for all the members that voted YES, Lebanon could not be Arabic, because of many things.
The main problem in that issue is what define arab? If beeing arabic country is beeing attached to the Islam world, of course we will refuse it, since we refuse to have a religious Lebanon, Lebanon was build on the unity and not on the domination of the religions.
If beeing arab means joining the Israilis-Arabic war, we also refuse because since long time all this war happened on our land and destroyed our country.
I prefer to say that Lebanon is just Lebanese, without giving him any other nationality.
France is french, Germany is german, Italia is italian .... Why Lebanon cannot be just LEBANESE?

I am not defending Israel, but im saying that we don't have to join the war because we are nor ARABIC nor Israilis, so what is the reason, other than occupying Lebanon, that let the arabic armies pick Lebanon as their battlefield with Israel?

Very good point of view, i know that, but after the Islamic Foutou7at, everything changes and the word ARAB is becoming a meaning for the word MUSLIM.

Very good point of view, i know that, but after the Islamic Foutou7at, everything changes and the word ARAB is becoming a meaning for the word MUSLIM, and for this reason many people refuse to be arab just for not beeing ISLAM.

that's silly. I mean if this is really the reason why some people refuses to be arab...
why cant they be christian arabs. Well no body is satisfied of the arabic situation
today...it's worse then before Islam. Besisdes ARAB does not have anything to do with
ISLAM, the first is an identity, the second a religion.

Mr. hammerguy, before saying is that is silly or not, look at the fact that all the Arabic countries are controlled by Islamic Governors, and the main point to reach the presidency there is to be Muslim.
Since that time you can find that they all are Islam exept Lebanon, and that's why the Lebanese (especially the christian side) refuse to say that they are Arabs.
