1st off "muslim" doesn equal "arab". Their are 50+ million muslims in China, i bet they dont refer to themselfs as being arabs.
Well everyone is free to believe whatever one pleases and identify himself the way he wishes. But throughout the world lebanon is recognized as an arabic country. We are living in an arabic country, with arabic traditions and values that almost everyone living here has adopted. |

lebanon was and will always be part of blad el sham (bilad el sham means the land of the north or the peace land, originally taken from the word "sam" son of Noah ... only in the near past bilad el sham was divided by sayks-pico agreement to smaller countries ... w bilad el sham was occupied by the ottoman's empire for many years ... so does this make lebanon an islamic country ? and do you know that the origin of ottman's are mangolians ? so are we mangolians if were occupied by the ottoman's empire? Thank You ...

During the ottoman reign, their was nothing called lebanon. The christians and the druzes only lived in the moutain of lebanon with a relative independance according to the agreement with the ottomans.
The rest, sahel, bekaa, jnoub, chmal, were all part of syrian unity. They were concidered to be syrian lands until 1920 when lebanon was proclaimed. During the islamic conquests, now day lebanon was a part of bilad al sham, the area was ruled by mou'awiya himself. Their was nothing called lebanon until 1920 really. |

systematics ur 4 sure right... wat's known by lebanon is just a new idea gotten after 1920.... 2ND OF ALL, R WE ARABS? WELL NO, R WE PHONICIANS?? AKID NO, Y NOT... WELL WE'RE A RESULT OF A GREAT MIX(MAZIJ SOULALI MOTAJANISS) THROUGHOUT HISTORY OF MANY AND MANY RACES... ARABS, KANAANI,ROMANI, GREEK,2ASHOURI, KALDANI,ARAMI,KURDI. ND THE LAST RACE WHICH ENTERED OUR AREA IS THE ARMAN..... AND 4 THE PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT WE'RE ARABS BCZ WE SPEAK ARABIC... WELL WHO CAN BE SURE AFTER 1000 YRS WE'LL STILL SPEAK ARABIC, 2ND OF ALL 4 THOSE WHO SAY WE R PHONECIANS, AND HERE'S A PROBLEM... SOME PEOPLE IN LEBANON USED THIS "FALSAFE' " JUST 4 POLITICAL GOALS... BT GUYS HISTORY IS REALLY BRIGHT... THERE'S NOTHING CALLED PHONICIAN... PHONECIANS R THE KAN3ANIYYIN WHO LIVED ON THE SYRIAN SEA ND THUS WHO FOUND OUT THE "2ORJOWAN" COLOR... PHONECIANS IS JUST A GREEK NAME 4 THE KAN3ANIYYIN WHO FOUND OUT THIS COLOR .... THIRD OF ALL, THE PRESENCE OF (PHONICIANS) WAS OVER THE WHOLE SYRIAN COAST( LEBANON, PALESTINE, ND SHAM) ND THEIR CAPITAL WASN'T BEIRUT... IT WAS OGARIT, IT'S A WONDERFUL PLACE IN LAZIQIYYA BL SHAM ( I VISITED IT, A WONDERFUL OLD CITY BUILT FROM ABOUT 3500 YRS(AS I THINK)) SO IF WE WERE REALLY PHONICIAN THEN LET'S GO ND FREE OUR CAPITAL IN LAZIQIYYA!!!! THIS MIX OF RACES, IS THE SAME IN SHAM, PALESTINE, IRAQ, ND JORDAN, ND EVEN CYPRUS.......... ND BKHSOUS L 3ARAB, THE WORD ARAB COMES FROM 3ORBA OR sA7RA... SO THE 3ARAB CAME FROM THE ALJAZEERA L3ARABIYYA ND CAME 2 THIS LAND LONG AGO.... WE SHOULD ALL BE PROUD OF OUR GREAT ANCESTORS WHO WERE ARABS, KAN3ANIYYIN, ND MANY OTHERS.... THE LAST POINT I WANNA SAY IS THAT PHONICIANS IN THE PAST WERE NOT A SINGLE KINGDOM OR COUNTRY, THEY WERE MANY COUNTRIES.. IT WAS JUST LIKE THE FEDERAL SYSTEM NOWADAYS... SO WHO'S SO HAPPY TO MAKE LEBANON NOW LOOK LIKE THE OLD PHONICIAN KINGDOMS, WHO'S HAPPY TO HAVE THAT FEDERAL LEBANON??????
