i would wait for the next nvidia model, they would have perfectly adapted their architecture and driver models for dx10.

I have ATI Radeon X1300 512mb and it says no to nothing lol
I have a Geforce on my old pc FX 5200 128mb and working just fine. But in general i prefer ATI even thought i am not much into games but it seems more professional when it comes to graphics...

choose a DX10 card, and between the 2 available cards, go for the Ati as it offers better performance. the 8500 gt is not that booomba, if u said 8600 gts i would say go for it.

No way is ATI the best just look at the performance comparisons, the highest tier nvidia gpu always gets better scores then the highest tier ATI one. I would wait for the next nvidia model, probablt the 9000 series, cause they would have fully grasped dx10 and patched all of the problems. Should be coming out soon i think.

i don't know how soon the 9000 series will come out, because there is still a whole 8900 to be released, and ati still can't match the 8800gtx, so nvidia has got time.

I advice u to go for GeForce 8600 GT.
IT's 512MB DDR3 128 Bit... It's a great VGA better than 8500GT plus it's cheap it costs u between $200 to $230. I bought one before 4 days and it's fantastic. |
