it's a propaganda, and unfortunately many pple are blind to this!!!! plus u have the medias and especially televisions (like progs dedicated to kids) playing the big role in the distortion of the facts by showing like if this occasion is all about santa and he's always the number 1 present in this occasion, with gifts, trees and bla bla bla...

when u ask many kids about this occasion, unfortunately, all they talk is about santa and gifts, and who to blame, i guess, schools, parents, tvs....

I do think that all that you guys & girls are saying relatively holds a explanation by its self...

I am pretty sure & agree with most of you that we lost the true spirit of having Christmas in the first place.... it's not about the gift as it is about sharing, loving, & the joy of helping people whom are in need.

We are far from being perfect, & with all the pressure of daily life we tend to forget the simple meaning!

That's why I want you to take some time & think how you can make this Christmas different... how you can celebrate it differently... how to put a smile on the face of one who is in need!

Look around you... & open your eyes, mind, & heart.
It is about CHRISTMAS.... not X-mas..... it's not ANTICONSTITUTIONELEMENT 'I'm not sure if I even wrote that right ' so if won't take us more time to write that down...

Cheers...

The use of “Xmas” in place of “Christmas” is disrespectful? you think it is a deliberate attempt to secularize the holiday? But this abbreviation is nothing new. It’s been used since ancient times, with written references going back at least a thousand years.

So why the X?

The Greek word for Christ starts with the letter “chi,” which is represented by an X in the Greek alphabet. In early manuscripts of the New Testament, Christ’s name was often abbreviated as X. And in the Middle Ages, “Xian” and “Xianity” were used to shorten Christian and Christianity.

looks like some1have done some research:P
anw when i was a kid i used 2 love christmas because of santa & z gifts & all that.
but 3 years ago i started 2 loose interest in it, the night of the 24th is just another family dinner.
but last year in scout we had a "tournee pere noel" where we go 2 z needy family's in jounieh & help them out a lil by givvin them couple of gifts some clothing & some food. fa it really gave me back z christmas spirit w hala2 i cnt wait 2 go 2day. coz dats what christmas is all about. giviin something back 2 the less fortunate w weither u spell it xmas or christmas its z same i guess. coz i dnt think people & specially christians will ever forget the true meaning of this holiday
