Who knows why they called the noth pole and the south pole Arctic and Antarctic? ( i've just discovered it while reading a book )

the word arctic is related to the big bear constallation that indicates geographical north.

Antarctic ---> opposite of north.

Well, in the book they said that Polar bears (and not the constellation) gave the Arctic its name. Arktos is Greek for bear. Antarctica has no polar bears, so they call it Anti-Arktos.
You were right that it had something related to bears

I just learned that I should learn to use google more often

Arctic A region surrounding the North Pole which takes its name from the Greek arktikos ‘northern’, which itself comes from arktos ‘bear’. In Greek mythology Zeus placed the nymph Callisto in the northern hemisphere in the shape of a bear and thus this particular star constellation was named by the Greeks Ursa Major ‘Great Bear’. Close by is Ursa Minor ‘Little Bear’, which includes Polaris, the pole star, which marks the approximate position of the north celestial pole.
