2.5 Gbps  But I'm limited by the writing speed of my HDD and the 100 mbps network cables

dude 2.5gbps does not exist, it is the maximum speed, but surely not the net speed.
there is no ISP offering it in USA, for example QWEST is offering 20mb/s for 100$, (160mbps) which way less than 2.5 gbps. also similar offer can be got from AT&T and Verizon. if i were you, i would RIGHT NOW get a 1gbps (50$) network card, and the fastest HD i can find. a movie in two minutes... daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn:P

Actually I'm connected to the RENATER Network. Main lines are Optical Lines of which the speed is 2.5 Gbps. That network extends across France and connects more than "800 sites involved in research, technology and education".
The 100 mbps cables connect us students from the dorms of the campus to the network. So I can't do nothing about that. But hey 2 mins for a movie is fine by me  Enough time to prepare the arguileh so as to enjoy my movie   Besides, we're not allowed to download anything not related to "work"  Hence I can't download torrents. But who needs torrents when there's RapidShare...   NB: In france, 20 mbps is worth less than 20$/month. And indeed. 2.5 Gbps is not on the market in France either. However, they do have fiber optics lines for customers, but you won't get 2.5 Gbps. Last edited by alien_3333; 05-09-2008 at 12:00 AM. |

i dont know how ..but my upload speed has been a 1mbps over the last 3 days... uploading at 110 kb/s almost... lol download speed is still 256kbps

UPLOAD speed: 200-250 kb/s i'm using a 256kbps connection
