There is a Basketball tournament in Turkey at the moment as a preparation for the world cup. 4 teams are participating in this tournament:
1-Lebanon
2-Argentina
3-Canada
4-Turkey(Host)

This is a good pre-tournament for the Lebanese national team to play against tough teams

خسر منتخب لبنان لكرة السلة مباراته الأولى ضمن بطولة Efes Pilsen المقامة حالياً في تركيا 93-72 بعد ان قدّم أداءً جيداً طوال المباراة ولم يسمح للمنتخب التركي في الإفلات وحيداً في المباراة حيث بقي في أجواء المباراة خصوصاً مع التألق اللافت لمات فريجه العائد حديثاً من الإصابة.

وعانى منتخبنا الوطني من قصر القامة أمام العمالقة الأتراك خصوصاً نجم الميلووكي باكس في الدوري الأميركي للمحترفين أرسين إليازوفا (19 نقطة) الذي كان أيضاً متالقاً من المسافات البعيدة.

تبقى نتيجة المباراة مقبولة جداً كونها تعد الأولى من نوعها مع فرق أوروبية قوية كالمنتخب التركي الذي كان يلعب على أرضه وامام جماهيره ، وكان المنتخب الأرجنتين قد أسقط المنتخب الكندي 79 - 64 .

وتصدر مات فريجة قائمة هدافي منتخب لبنان بـ 18 نقطة (من بينهم 4 ثلاثيات ) ، روني فهد 13 نقطة وجاكسون فرومان 13 نقطة .

وسيخوض المنتخب اللبناني غداً مباراة هامة أخرة أمام المنتخب الأرجنتيني عند الساعة الخامسة والنصف بعد الظهر .

قدّم منتخب لبنان لكرة السلة مباراة أكثر من رائعة أمام المصنف رقم واحد عالمياً الأرجنتين عندما خسر وبصعوبة بالغة 89 - 82 في إطار بطولة Effes Pilsen المقامة حالياً في تركيا.

واستطاع المنتخب اللبناني من إجبار مدرب المنتخب الأرجنتيني على إستعمال كامل أسلحته لإنهاء المباراة لصالحه فيما تألق من جهة المنتخب اللبناني مات فريجه (27 نقطة ) و جاكسون فرومان (19 نقطة ) وإيلي رستم (10 نقاط) فيما لعب فادي الخطيب دور القائد في أرض الملعب مكتفياً بـ 8 نقاط لكن محققاً 5 تمريرات حاسمة.

من جهة المنتخب الأرجنتيني المدجج بنجوم الدوري الأميركي للمحترفين ، سجلّ لويس سكولا 19 نقطة وفابريسيو أوبيرتو 16 نقطة .

يلعب المنتخب اللبناني غداً أمام المنتخب الكندي عند الساعة السادسة مساءً ، ويذكر أن المنتخب الكندي وقع في مجموعتنا في نهائيات كأس العالم .

well first game took place yesterday and we lost to Turkey bi 21 points and today we lost against Argentina 82-89 which is a very good result against such a strong team, tomorrow Canada li ma3na bel group bel world cup so good luck Lebanon!

Lebanon lost against Argentina who's ranked #1 in the world by 7 points only.
Too bad we're unable to watch the games.

What amazes me is the lack of interest by our local media, what is more important than supporting our national team in the only sport that we are good at? fi chi byejma3 el kell wel kell byenso el siyese men wara men mountakhad lebnein bel basketball w ma7ada hammo, ba3ed fi takhallof aktar men heik?

What amazes me more are the people, tawasho samena bel football world cup flags........ w Lebanon wasn't even participating.
While our basketball team reached the world cup 3 times w only few people know that. Also in 2006 our team won against France(took the 5th place) & Venezuela w still ma 7ada ma3o khabar!!!!!
