dead hard disk.
maybe if u make a 2.8gb partition, the format will continue, but u wont be able to make use of the rest of the HD capacity.

divide your hard disk into 5 partitions , then try to format all of them .
you'll find the corrupted partition . then merge the other safe partitions . mni7 hek a la libanaise ? |

Try the normal format nt the quick! if u still hav the same problem then try what John A told u 2 do.. if the prb persist check if ur hard disk is limited or MASTER only. if its limited then ull hav to get a new1 ! if its MASTER then try to use it as limited..

Try to format it on fat32 then NTFS(fast or slow it's the same) and make sure the CD you're using is good or your CD-ROM drive is good, i used to face such problems on my old PCs.
