اشار مصدر مسؤول في مانشستر يونايتد أن المدرب "سير أليكس فيرغسون" يرغب بتكريم حارسه المخضرم أدوين فاندر سار بمنحه شارة قيادة الشياطين الحمر في مباراة بلاكبول التي سيستضيفها ملعب "أولد ترافورد" في ختام مباريات الدوري الإنكليزي لموسم 2010-2011، بعدما اعلن الحارس وضع حد لمسيرته الكروية عقب نهاية الموسم الجاري.
وفي حديث للمدرب اكد فيه ان فاندر سار حارساً رائعاً ومثيراً للغاية، وهو مثال للحارس المُحترف والدليل على ذلك كان يتعامل مع التدريبات وكأنها مباريات رسمية، إنه حارس من الطراز الفريد ومن الصعب أن يعوض غيابه بسهولة مشيرا الى انه لم يتخيل أن يظهر بهذا المستوى الراقي وهو في الـ40 من عمره .
واختتم المدرب حديثه بالقول ان أدوين لديه شيء خاص بداخله، وأفضل شيء بالنسبة له أنه سيبتعد عن الكرة وهو في أوج تألقه، وهذا سيجعل الجماهير تتذكره باستمرار.

I remember after Barthez left Man utd, the team had serious problems in the goalkeeping position, they used to say that Sir Ferguson doesn't like goalkeepers...
Now after reading this, I can't agree more with Sir Ferguson when talking about Van der Sar.. This guy is a legend.. He will surely be missed..

yeah man, respect is the precise word. and about the hard time replacing a GK, it IS hard..bas enno there are a couple of options around at this time, the likes of De Gea, Adler, Lloris, Stekelenburg, Neuer [already taken bas enno..]. So it won't be AS HARD as before I reckon.

Reds confirm Hargreaves exit

United have confirmed Owen Hargreaves will not be offered a new contract in the summer and will leave Old Trafford.
The midfielder joined the Reds in July 2007 and played an important role in helping Sir Alex's men seal a Premier League and Champions League double in his first season.
But injuries have blighted his careeer since, so much so that he has only made 39 appearances in his four years at the club.
Sir Alex confirmed Hargreaves will bid farewell to the Reds and wished him all the best for the future.
"This has been a difficult decision knowing how hard the lad has worked to win back his fitness," said the manager.
"But we have made it in the hope he will be able to resurrect his career elsewhere."
