After Searching i guess not, a direct regular UTP Cable cannot be used to connect two computers

since u have a router angelic, power up the two laptops
i bet the router assigns the IP addresses to the 2 pcs
you only have to assign a work group

right click on my computer---properties--computer name---change
assign a workgroup name (IT MUST BE THE SAME) for the 2 pcs (it will ask u to restart, so restart)
go to control panel -- network connections --- create a new connection (it's on the left side panel)
press next---set up a home or small office network---btefa7lek new window
press next, w kamen next, select the wireless network card w then press next---choose (yes, use existing....), and press next---assign a name, and press next, 7ote l workgroup ele 7atayteha fow2---next (turn on files and printer sharing), kamen next, w kamen next , now choose the 4th option (just finish the wizard)

do these steps on the 2 pcs
bas t5alsi, roo7i 3ala l folders ele badek tene2lehon
right click on them -- properties---sharing---w mark the option that says (share this folder)

now on the pc that you want to copy to
go to my network places (available in the start button)--view work group computer (you will see the other pc) double click on it---copy what ever u want

for any help ana 7ader

btw this works for 2 XP computers, vista is not complicated kteer, bas if u have an antivirus with a firewall, it will not allow u to share folders
so elelna shu 3endek 3al 2 PCs to help you...(operating system & what antivirus?)

Sogelec, mbala you can connect them using 1 cable without having to pass through a switch or a router.

Use the external hard disk and transfer them, that's the easiest way.
