How much do web developpers/web designers earn?

Just curious, In lebanon how much they earn from this work?
If they are professional, or inexperienced or freelancer.


Give me your inputs please.I want to know if it can build to me successful future.

I am a web developer and designer. It makes good money especially if u had deals with companies like creating them a website for 2-3k which takes like 1 or 2 weeks of work. nice huh? :P
Skills are very important and not everyone really succeed in it especially in Lebanon because the same person does server and client side programming.
So instead of dedicating yourself to server side programming you will have to deal with designs as well.
Honestly if you don't have passion for it, just drop it.
It's like everything else if you don't really love it, you can't master it

Maybe like 3 months 2 - 3 k, so obviously 800 - 1000 per month.

basically, graphic designers do not earn money as much as they deserve, ba3den, there's no such thing called COPYRIGHT !! u can just steal any design n start editing it, that's what 90% of the ones who think they are graphic designers do!! even though law fi copyright, kellon bye7teri2 dinon w ma byotla3 men amron shi, and by that, real graphic designers can earn money as hell!!..

i will give u a simple e.g: u can google a 2D or 3D picture over the net, and start using it with another picture and come up with a design, which by far, isn't YOURS actually... hek bihal balad 3am bi sewo ... 5-7 min n BOOOOYAAAA!! here's a design... this is just crap!! the passion of loving it, is doing it from ZERO, creating ur own background, or logo.. its all about the IDEA!! then, sit down w tabbo2a

It depends how good you are. and yes you can do that in less time if you have your own libraries you won't have to write the codes from scratch every time, so time plays a big role in such major.
Believe me, i am not exaggerating with 2-3k, and we're not talking about very complicated websites. Tayyar.org website coasted them 60.000$ knowing it's .net based which is way easier than PHP for example.
However please note that in such major you're not only limited with employment thing, you can build your own website and make a killing out of it.
I second what justin said, original content gives you a great experience and is paid way more than anything else.
We're talking about real web design and web development where you have the ability of creating what is needed. Everyone can edit but not everyone can create

The good design takes so much work and time...It's not that easy...

@Justin, you mentioned something about stealing the design and no creativity, but man you have to look at what the costumers need... Most of them don't want a complicated design, they just need a standard website like all the others... (maybe because they don't want to pay much ) They just want a website for their company, a simple one!

Plus, I prefer making my own web development company than working as a web developer in a certain company...

They got a nice website but it's heavy. However i've seen their control panel it's really nice and professional.
Bas ino i am not pro .NET, it's heavy and costs a fortune on maintenance and hardware resources.

If you are experienced in this domain, and you love it as xcoder said, then I advice you to go for it.
Personally, I work in these fields: web & graphic design, programing, animation, SEO/SEM, etc...

I work from Lebanon, but I basically do outsourcing to UK and USA and Canada. You can get a better projects prices, because they are of high economics countries. I know a client from UK who spent $140,000 on a web development system (Obviously that was huge, but many Lebanese companies such as Netways can do it for much less).

So, I strongly suggest that you do outsourcing because it helps much.

Another advice is to specialize in something. Over the past years I learned so much, as I thought this is a good thing, but honestly I figured out it's a bad habit. Most people (including me before) think that if they know alot of things, then it's better - Truth is the contract.
I now understand what they mean by: Specialization is the key of success.

Focus on what you're better at, and ofcourse, in your free time read or learn about new things just for knowledge.

By the way, I know very talented people that work in this domain, and they make less than $500 each month. El rez2a 3ala Allah ya shabeb - Allah karim. Do not look for money, look for a better future wel be2eh 3ala Allah.

I'm a web developer but I dont work in lebanon. Anyways I just wanted to share my experience with lebanese designers and web developers.

I'll sum it up in "*** immi iza ba3ed ishtighil ma3 libnani".

I went through over 8 web designers. Each one charged me a different price ranging from 300-600 for the design. The reason I had to go through so many designers is because of what was mentioned earlier. All of them would rip off other sites, change the colors and tell me they created it from scratch. One guy even left the text from the other website.

I don't think its the copyright issue, I think its more that they lack business ethics. Between the 8 some of them wouldn't return calls, some would disappear, some would promise work to be completed in a day and they end up sending it 4 weeks later.
