never put the data that you need on the partition where windows is found, and always have 2 partitions at least.
try to connect the HD to another PC, which will load using the OS found on it, while your HD will be an additional partition,so recover your data from there.

orrrr put the XP cd , boot from C , click R , choose the right XP installation directory, put the admin password and write:
"chkdsk /r" without the quotes and press enter when the repair finishes restart your computer, if it doesnt work, try system restore through safe mode, or repair the windows bel reinstall repairing! then think about slaving or formatting..

Uno they don't know how to fix stuff or they don't want to try to fix stuff!! |

Ok here are a couple of solutions:
When the computer is booting up, press f5 and go to safe mode Burn the content u want to a dvd, im not sure if its possible when ur in safe mode, but whata heck give it a try. Im sorry i made a mistake, about the bios solution. What u need to do, is look at the front of the hard disk where the ide and power cable sit, their are a couple of other pins where a jumper sits, its small black sorta of box. Take it out, and look at the hard disk manual glued on it, see where it indicates where u should place the jumper so the computer would read it as a slave one. Then plug the hard disk to another computer, the jumper on the other hard disk is defaulted master, that should work. Their is also the format solution but i think u can bypass that. Also u can insert a copy of a windows installation, go to bios make the primary boot the cdrom/dvd. The computer will run the copy of windows, and their should be a repair windows (the one already installed) do that and windows should work, be sure that when ur done to change the boot sequence to the hard disk |
