there is no more reason to have limits, the cable is a thousand times what we had, the speed will be boosted 10 times, the limit should be boosted 10 or a hundred times, if there is a limit it should be 40 GB + which is fine by me as long as they keep the night unlimited

edit: but whatever the case, the price of the 1 GB should be extremly low now, even if we assuem neoxter's graph is true, that means 1 GB costs 1000 LL

the limits are due the bad infrastructure reaching to our home , these cables cant hold much.

it is limited because they want to keep making money from the consumer, when u have 2 mb connection you wont use your regular phone anymore the cost of telecom will be nearly 0$ this is why they have to keep charging in order to keep making money for the government

Guys relax a little bit, it's good to nag when things are bad but to certain extent.
Limitation is almost everywhere with few exceptions.
It's true that quota is higher abroad, but we have to start somewhere and i believe this is a good start (assuming it's true).

If what's in the sheet is correct then i believe this will be a GREAT start.
And i'm pretty sure things will evolve with time.
Let's just get out of the current shitty situation before aiming for the stars.

I'm staying with my local cable provider, they're already giving me 512kbps 10gb/month with relatively low latency and unlimited nights for $65.
They just keep their offers better than DSL to stay in the market, and with the new prices and bandwidth i'm sure i can get quite a great deal from them =)

DSL is very dependent on the distance from the central and the cabling, it a wired solution shall be adopted the best thing is FTTx , fiber optics, like the HDSL after 1.3km the quality starts to reduce. since lebanon doesnt have a dedicated central to each village like in kelhat for example half of it goes with chekka and the other half with another area the efficiency of the line will not be as good. or 3ebrin in batroun. i have been told that a fiber optics network exists among villages but i don't know instead of tackling the problem with the highest tech available we are doing it with the mid range tech, enno fared marra. w lebenein byetla3 cheber aba2ch y2ouloulna beddon ymacho cha2fe menno w cha2fe lah beddo 1 month of serious work byetghatta kell lebanon bass beddak will.

since you mentioned my village, it is located 5 km from the central office (cable run, AKA road, not direct distance) in bterram. Assuming the technology in use is ADSL2+
i found the following on the internet somewhere

ADSL2+ Sync rates

Less than 1km should be 23-24Mbit
1.0km = 13.81dB = 23Mbit
1.5km = 20.7dB = 21Mbit
2.0km = 27.6dB = 18Mbit
2.5km = 34.5dB = 13Mbit
3.0km = 41.4dB = 8Mbit
3.5km = 48.3dB = 6Mbit
4.0km = 56dB = 4Mbit
4.5km = 62.1dB = 3Mbit
5.0km = 69dB = 2Mbit

edit: given the huge capacity of the cable, the government should have no problem giving everyone in the country 10 mb unlimited all the time. you know why? cause no one is ever going to be using all his internet at full capacity all the time, I feel like they aimed kinda low if these capacities are true bas again we will see
