About to move to Windows 7 minutes ago. Just to insure the compatibility of my nvidia XFX 9500GT with Intel G41. Things weren't going well on a previous version of windows VISTA.

Short for release to manufacturing, the version of a software product that is given to manufacturers to bundle into future versions of their hardware products. RTM versions are typically released to manufacturers before they are released to the general public so that the manufacturers can work out any bugs the software may encounter with hardware devices. The release of an RTM version does not necessarily mean that the creators have worked out all the problems with the software; there still may be more versions of the product before it is released to the general public.

I beleive me, tawa, kingroudy, Dr. Scoo are all using windows 7 and i haven't heard or experienced any bug on my os or on theirs. I can say it is working smoothly with great compatibility we've installed it on Desktops and laptops and it worked fine.

I mean you guys installed the system lately, it's pretty normal that it works smoothly (except vista), what about other stuff, did anyone tried games on it, development tools...?

I think it's very similar to the XP boot, pretty fast I tell you. I'm playing games on Windows 7, it's working fine for some, but for others I'm facing some problem because of the driver . But the weird thing is, I'm facing problem with Warcraft 3 Engine {old engine } and the Heroes of Newerth is working just fine {very new engine }Anyways, you can ask Morpheusp about the heavy gaming. And about the fresh install thing, you should know how to treat your windows and it wont get slower with time ![]()
