«تثقيف سياسي»

شكلت المحاضرة التي دعا اليها منسّق «تيار المستقبل» في الشمال عبدالغني كبارة، وتحدث فيها «مدير التثقيف السياسي» في «التيار» محمد سلام، احراجاً كبيراً لكثير من الحاضرين، وخاصة النائبين سمير الجسر وبدر ونوس، وذلك بسبب «اللغة» التي استعملها سلام و«التشبيهات» التي اطلقها.
ومما قاله «مدير التثقيف السياسي» في المحاضرة ما يلي: «حينما أشار أحد النواب الى ان طرابلس هي عاصمة السنّة توالت الآراء المنددة، ونحن نقول بأن الشمال هو عاصمة السنّة في لبنان (...) أريد ان أذكّر انه عندما قرّر الفرس مهاجمة العرب المسلمين وكان زمن الخليفة عمر بن الخطاب، كلّف الفرس وقتها «رستماً» بقيادة جيشهم وكلّف عمر «سعداً» لقيادة جيشه، فسبحان الله، في القادسية هزم سعد رستماً، وفي لبنان سيهزم سعد ان شاء الله كل مخططاتهم».

Reaching the ideal state of secularism must start by playing and working within the system.

The first stage is consensual democracy. This encourages co-existence and partnership amongst each other.

The second stage is to break the barries of fear and division amongst the population. The MoU was a fantastic step that showed simple dialogue can set a framework for nation-building.

The third stage is to restore the rights of deprived people to live in dignity and in freedom. This also includes the rights of christians. Becuase we are in the sectarian system at present, we talk about Christians, not as Christians, but as humans. So we need to restore their rights, to be remove forms of oppression and inequality. When we reach a stage of equality and balance, we can move another step forward.

^ We can also include in this the right for women and men to be equal. Even citizenship issue

We need to get the balance right, and remove all barriers and see people thru competence, not on gender or religion.

The fourth stage is to rebuild and reform the institutions. You can not have faith in the state without having faith in the institutions and their functioning.

So in all, we need to play within the system, in order to change the system.

But the nightmare in Lebanon is, when you act the performance of for example, the PM - or if we want to reform institutions, we are said to target the "Sunni".
