Well in my opinion the main problem is legislation. If the government put a certain restrain on the percentage of buildings allowed in the green regions we will always have our forests.
For example: In my hometown Bologna only 17% building are allowed. So this way the trees will be saved and we will always have our beloved forests.
On the other hand family planning is very necessary. The bigger the number of the kids in the family is, the more we need to use our natural resources. So therefore we should limit our birth rates.
