Default Kaká Named FIFPro World Player Of The Year

Kaká has been voted as the FIFPro World Player of the Year and FC Barcelona have had three of their players included in the FIFPro World XI.

Fédération International de Footballeurs Professionels (FIFPro) have announced the results after their 57,500 members voted for their favourites from the 2006-07 season.

After Ronaldinho retained the honour last year, his compatriot Kaká has lifted the award this time and as clearly delighted.

“I am humbled to receive such an honour," the AC Milan star told the FIFPro website. "To follow my good friend and such a great player as Ronaldinho makes this a very special award for me.

"To be recognized by my fellow professional players worldwide coming from over 50,000 players is amazing. I would like to thank my teammates and coaches and everyone involved at Milan and the national team, as well as my family and friends for their support.

"Thank you also to FIFPro for this award and for your work in protecting the interests and welfare of players around the world."

While Kaká earned a place in the World XI, it was Barça that gained the most nominations with Carles Puyol, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho being named in the side.

Gianluigi Buffon retained his place as the favourite keeper, while Fabio Cannavaro was also named in the team again along with Ronaldinho from the 2005-06 vote.

The FIFPro World XI for 2006-07:
Buffon (Juventus)
Terry (Chelsea), Cannavaro (Real Madrid), Puyol (FC Barcelona), Nesta (Milan)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Mnachester United), Gerrard (Liverpool), Kaká (Milan), Messi (FC Barcelona)
Drogba (Chelsea), Ronaldinho (FC Barcelona).
Goal.com would like to know what you think. Feel free to list your ideal eleven for the 2006-07 season (not more than three players from one club).

As a start, i really like the formation...Such a team can do miracles...But, I dont think Kaka deserves to be named FIFPro World Player Of The Year...There are much better players than him that deserve this, just to name one, Lionel Messi...

Lionel Messi has ...mm let's say the least, very few experience, + he still can't lead a team like Kaka does. He prbably has the speed, tricks, dribbling, but still lacks when it comes to outside the box shots, and as an overall player, he still needs a couple of years or so. Kaka is the perfect player, + let's see what he has done.
A CL Cup for Milan, him being the highest goal scorer. Definitely, he was the best player of the CL. In the Italian league, probably he didn't do as well as in the CL, but it was lack of gameplay by the whole team, he actually always lead the team. And Internationally, I say pretty good, at least better than last year.

btw,I still can't understand how Cannavaro is still in the formation. I say, as an Italian defender, he simply sucked with Real Madrid

When Fabio Cappelo was coaching Real Madrid, Cannavaro and Sergio Ramos worked miracles together in the centre back...But, now that the idiot, one and only Shuster has arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu, he plays a wrong formation at every match, and every time he switches between defenders playing alongside Cannavaro, so what can Cannavaro do?...Hes lost...Theres no team chemistry for any player to make it good in Real Madrid as long as Shuster is here...

The Whites are having a brilliant start to the season, much better than the one they had in the previous campaign. Real Madrid are currently leaders with 19 points, having won six games and drawn only one. This time last year, they had won four clashes, drawn two and lost one. They have scored 13 goals so far, as opposed to last season's 7. Iker Casillas is currently the keeper to have conceded the least number of strikes in the competition.

Its still the begenning of the Spanish League, so calm down man before you start judging...The sequence of the teams they played last year is different than the sequence of the teams they are playing these days...Man, answer me, have you seen the formations that Shuster is lately playing? What do you think about them?
