No it's relative to our understanding since we're studying the speed of light on earth and not in space

It's the distance traveled by light in a year of our time. WE CAN go past it but not if we're in a space ship. If i told you how you'd think i'm weird lol:P

Think of it as this: The sun is 93,000,000 miles (google it) away from the earth, if the speed of light is 186,000,000 miles per second (google it) then that means the distance btw the sun & the earth is 8 Lightminutes... So in that sense, when u look @ the sun that is what the sun looked like 8 minutes ago (vcoderz it)...

yup i read abt this once , it takes the lite to reach earth 8 minutes ....
