The Association of Football Statisticians has drawn up a list of the top 100 footballers of all time and placed Gary Neville in 86th place, with Diego Maradona only in sixth.

Many 'best-ever' lists have been drawn up over the years, and nearly all of them have caused controversy.
The AFS attempted to reveal the greatest of all time by analysing every football fact and figure from the past 100 years.
The list gives points for goals scored by forwards and clean sheets for defenders. Other things to be taken into account include the number of cups players won, being captain and the level they played at.
Pele is chosen as the best of all time, however the rest of the selections are bizarre at best.
Gary Neville is amusingly rated in 86th position, John-Dahl Tomasson in 82nd, Sylvain Wiltord in 58th, and Ali Daei in 26th.
Diego Maradona is only sixth in the standings, while the legendary trio of Ferenc Puskas, Johan Cruyff and Alfredo De Stefano come in at 20, 21 and 22.
Incredibly there is no place for 1966 World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore or Manchester United legend George Best to name just a couple.

ronaldinho is faaar behind, he's a great talent he should be in top 20.

and iranian ali daei deserves his place, he is the top international scorer of the world.
