Chipset !!!

would someone help me plzzz to know what is the role of the chipset (P35,X38,G33,...), cuz i need a MOBO that support a 1333Mhz FSB CPU ,and the 8800 GT.
what should i get?

the 8800 GT runs support PCI-express 2.0, which is only supported by X38 intel chipsets (X refers to both xtreme and xpensive

).
but because PCI-express 2.0 is forward and backward compatible, and because PCI-express 1.1's bandwidth is not fully saturated, u can go for a motherboard with P35 or G33.
or u have to wait for an Nvidia 780i

i favor a P35.

the x refer to the Performance Desktop Chipsets.
the P35 chipset MOBO don't have a VGA.

then g33, which is less expensive than g35 (the latter support HDMI 1080p, u'll have that in the 8800GT)

The P35 Special Ability is that suppot the Intel® Core™2 Extreme Processor. yalle i don't even want to dream abt.
my E6750 is enough.

i personaly prefer the Intel BLKD975XBX2KR

The CHIPSET is the 975X, one of THE Performance Desktop Chipsets.
But we have the X38 newer. and i prefer this chipset with a GiGabyte or an Asus MOBO. More powerful.

the 975XBX2 support only 1066 mhz BUS speed.

this is why i prefer the X38.
But a MOBO wiz an X38 Chipset is hoohooooooooooo.
it need a rich guy to buy it.
