Default Juventus Intensify Diego Interest

Bundesliga contenders Werder Bremen are bracing themselves for a raid from Juventus for their star player Diego.

The latest rumblings out of Italy suggest, that the Bianconeri are preparing a 30m euro bid for the silky skilled Brazilian playmaker, with a reported 20m euro being set aside for Diego himself.
Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco is said to be favouring the former Santos prodigy over Hamburger SV star Rafael Van der Vaart as the key ingredient needed to solidify their bid for a highly lucrative spot in the Champions League next season.
Werder have repeatedly insisted that the 22-year-old is not for sale, though the kind of cash being touted combined with a possible swap deal involving Portuguese midfielder Tiago could convince them to let the inevitable (Diego’s departure) happen sooner than they had hoped.
In related news, Sky Italia are reporting that defending German champions VfB Stuttgart are also hoping to take in Tiago, who has been such a big disappointment since arriving in Turin in the summer.
The 26-year-old former Chelsea midfielder is doubtlessly concerned that the lack of playing time could cost him a spot at Euro 2008, and would likely favour a move to Stuttgart, due to his close relationship with VfB captain Fernando Meira.
