English newspaper ‘The Sun’ has published a list of the 20 most promising youngsters to look out for in 2008.
Virtually every player chosen is under the age of 20, but the list includes six from the English Premiership. There are surprisingly only two players selected from the Italian Serie A, these being Brazilian wonderkid Alexandre Pato of Milan, and Lazio wing-back Lorenzo De Silvestri. The Barcelona duo of Bojan Krkic and Giovani dos Santos (pictured above) make the cut, while Boca Juniors’ Ever Banega is the only non-European based player chosen. Here is the full list: Aguero (Atletico Madrid) Banega (Boca Juniors) Benzema (Lyon) Breno (Bayern Munich) Chrisantus (Hamburg) Denilson (Arsenal) De Silvestri (Lazio) Di Santo (Chelsea) Giovani Dos Santos (Barcelona) Jovetic (Partizan Belgrade) Krkic (Barcelona) Kroos (Bayern Munich) Leiva (Liverpool) Pato (Milan) Pique (Manchester United) Rakitic (Schalke 04) Taarabt (Tottenham) Vela (Arsenal) Walcott (Arsenal) |
