Real Madrid will only allow Sergio Ramos to leave the club if they a bid that matches the player's astronomical buy-out clause as AC Milan are reported to be interested.
The Spanish outfit are reported to have responded to the speculation by stating that only an offer that meets the €180m specified in his buy-out clause will suffice. Los Merengues are convinced that the defender will stay with them, despite talk about his desire to have his contract revised in the summer. According to Marca, Milan are hoping to tempt Ramos with a huge contract if he were to join them and the Spanish paper have now followed up with Madrid's rebuttal. The latest report suggests that "various members of the club have told the paper" that "if Milan want Sergio, they will have to meet the buy-out clause". If that were not enough, the story continues to quote the unnamed source, who said that "there is no other way to go. We are not going to negotiate". Now that Milan's alleged interest has been made public, Madrid are set to analyse Ramos' demands to see his pay lifted to the same level as squad's top earners at Madrid. Despite revising his contract, which runs until 2013, only last July the player is reported to want it changed yet again after an impressive start to the season. President Ramón Calderón sees Ramos as one of the stars on which future Madrid sides will be built and may well accede to his demands to avoid any nerves if Milan were to make a concrete offer.
