Banning Books

Certainly an issue that we don't seem to worry about everyday but that arises from time to time when certain books are banned. Be Lebanon-specific in your answers to these question:

1- Are you with a governmental body that looks into books and bans them on criteria set be written laws? Are you with a non-governmental body managing this issue?

2- If yes, What are the criteria or in other words what books you would be for banning?

3-Can you recall any banned books in Lebanon? What were they? Were you with banning them at the time and are you still of the same opinion now?

I am against banning books,I'm not a book reader myself, but why ahould a book be banned?let people buy it and decide if it's good/bad/unappropriate. banning books does not only restrict freedom of speech but also limits the choices of the readers

everyone should be able to express their opinion on diffrent subjects, if one feels offended by some book let him express his opinion by replying by nother book and let the society decide who is right and who is wrong...

Im against book banning,

1st im with the right of accessing all kinds of knowledge and information of what kind it is

2nd each time u want to make a book so famous just ban it, some books contains shit, but when it is banned everyone wants to buy it

3rd what it is the benefit of banning a book?! cuz if i want to buy it ill buy it in both ways banned or not

4th we are in the 21th century, internet exists

Concerning the thread topic, No I am not with banning books and I don't see what authority can be the judge to which books should be banned if that is the pursuit we are to follow...
