Touré Yaya has revealed that Didier Drogba told him that he wants to join Barcelona, but recognised that he would have trouble playing regularly because of the competition.
The Chelsea forward appears to have made up his mind to leave the Blues and was keen to find out about life at Camp Nou from his international teammates. Drogba spoke to Touré about Barça while the pair were on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations recently. "Of course, we talked about Barcelona," Touré said. "Didier Drogba is a very important player in my country, but he costs a lot of money. "He would really like to play for Barça because we have a great team and have great players." While speculation suggests that Barcelona are weighing up their options, the squad is already over-loaded with top class forwards. "Drogba told me that he would like to come and play with me, but he knows that it is complicated as Eto'o, Henry and Messi are already there," Touré added. Milan is the other destination that Drogba has ben quoted as saying that he would like to head to should he leave Stamford Bridge. |
