I knew... BUT!

I'm sure we've all heard of people who said those exact words when it comes to doing things we all know is wrong , ie. non-petty stealing, drugs, violence, etc.

So why do people do things that are wrong if they know its wrong?
And to keep the discussion on topic, lets talk about instances where the person actually admits its wrong and its not something silly or pointless or something that some people can argue isnt wrong.

Well here is something that might answear ur question:

- We will never learn unless we fall

-We have nothing to lose so why dont we try

Drugs and Cigaretes:

-Oh this guy is cool and he is smokin I will do like him

And when he starts he cant stop

-Stress

Violence:

- Its done in case when somoene cant control his anger

- Coz He/She is drunk

Stealing:

-Poor is one of these reasons

- The guy cant get enough of money

Psychologically speaking, I think even though they say they knew it was wrong, they feel that in their case it might be right...Examples might include:

- A guy comes unexpected back to his wife and finds her with another stud so he shoots them both. Everyone knows that murder is wrong and he does too, but deep down he thinks it is right in this special situation...

- A hungry and poor person steals money from a little kid...he knows it is wrong, but he feels it might be just right this time because he is starving...

People are driven by their survival extincts and natural urges to do stuff they would say they wouldn't do...It is the natural conseqeunce of being the only animals with consciousness....

well it's like the case of smokers they know its wrong and they can't stop and don't wanna stop but when they started they didn't know what will the smoking cause on their health

The human psychology is extraordinarily complex. w i think eno the only reason for this tasarrouf is that morality is not the only factor that's taken into consideration when rationalizing a decision and because sometimes the decisions people make aren't fully rationalized, like crimes of passion for instance

Well their consciousness tells them that there is some advantage in such an activity, BUT i believe this occurs after many times of trying to justify there actions over a period of time and such a thought ends up programming itself into the consciousness ...

There is always time to correct our wrongful behavior (crimes, drugs...)
