I don't go to church anymore, frankly I'm lost in the whole idea of religion.so many questions are not answered.I could go to church daily but I don't do that cause I know that if I go I won't be praying from my heart, chou bit7ak 3a allah? I stay home, hopefully after I get my faith mess all sorted out I can resume my religious duties.

I pray 2-3 times a day, most times I can't get up in th morning to pray the morning prayer so I do it along with "doher" and "3aseer", and later I pray "maghreb" and "3sha". I fast in Ramadan and go to 3ashora.

The only religious ritual i still practice and wish i can practice more often is Meditation...I used to do it almost every week once at some point... Not anymore, but I will be back on track soon....

P.S. I think everyone should try rituals from other religions...some of them are so moving even if u dont believe in the supernatural stuff attached to them

I often hear about meditation on TV, but I have never seen anyone who practices it. How is it done? What's it's purpose?

I wont pray and go to the mosque whilst doing all the sins im commiting.
I have taken a decision and its that im not going to lie to myself anymore, ignorance is no longer a bliss for me, it is a blight that i wish to get rid off.

There are a lot of techniques to practice meditation. Some differences even exist between the two sects of buddhism, Theravada and Mahayana. But whatever the technique is, it usually aims at moving you to a state where you are thinking about nothing and at the same time you are hearing/seeing/feeling nothing from the outside world. You can literally reach states where you would be in a stadium and not hear the crowd. It's purpose is tranquility and what buddhists call "discovering your inner side". You eventually learn how to regulate your breathing and many buddhist monks have been monitored and tested scientifically in extreme cases where they could to a certain extent control their heartbeats and temperature... I recommend you read the two books by Lama Surya Das. He is an American Jew who converted to Buddhism and lived his whole life between Tibet and Nepal and is now writing books that mostly appeal to a western mind. You won't regret ever getting into this and it doesnt conflict with any religious teaching for non-buddhists.

Peace

The simple answer is,sadly,No
And I won't try to come up with excuses for it
Anyway, when I start doing everything I'm supposed to regularly and properly,I want the reason to be because I wanted to...not because it was anyone else's decision.
And having people lecturing me about it isn't exactly helping...
