dude cant you make it a 3 steps , step by step challenge , ye3neh when u guess the first command a new page opens and ask for the second and when you guess the second right a new page will open to ask for the third
ye3neh i think that i am very close
but i still don't know if all my commands are wrong or only one is wrong and wich one is the wrong one

i sent a pm to 454447415244 and i asked him about something but he told me to post it here 7atta kelkoun testafido
so the bottom line is that the first command is to change the permissions , the second is to delete logs.txt and the third is to delete the file t****_***s.php

note that t****_***s.php is in the directory named ****

Now in order to be safe, you need to change the permission of the "logs.txt" file to "all+execute" and then delete it... You also need to delete the file they are using to log your activities...

Normally If You Are Able To Change The The Permissions Of A File You Don't Need Aslan To To Change Its Permissions To Delete It , And As You Are Saying If You Want To Delete A File By Changing Its Permissions First To rwx Then You Can't! And I Will Give You The Evidence. Of Course In Your Case You Are Not A Root, And Normally The Owner Of The Logs Files Is The Root. On My PC I Changed My Id To "nobody" And I Showed You That This Is Wrong.

I Enlightened The Commands With Blue And System Output With Red, As You See My Privilges Are "nobody", And I Am In The /var/logs Directory, I Tried To chmod The mail.log File And As You See Operation Not Permitted :P, And Then Deleting The File Falied As You See

First of all, Thank you for your post...
You are right in what you said practically and no need for evidence...
Maybe the challenge info wasn't clear...But this does not mean that You cannot solve this challenge with just the given info...
Tinman solved this challenge so go ahead and solve it...
I know very well what I am posting...The idea of this challenge is just to learn how to use unix commands...
And you have to stick to the rules...
Ya3ne we are supposing that you have the ability to change permissions but in the same time you are not a root...
And we are supposing also that the file permission is rw- (without the execute)...
There are ways to change your priviledge on a system and to set permissions eventhough you might not be the root...I'm not going to talk about them now...
You only have 3 commands...We are not simulating the whole hack of the system...
You need to change the permission of the file in order to see if your name is on the list of the most wanted (That's waht the story says )
Then you are free to delete the file without a need to chmod it because its permission is rw- from the begining...

I might need to add some things to the scenario... But it's not affecting the challenge... maybe it is clear after this post...
