Ladies n Gentlemen, Has it ever happened to u that u want somethin' so badly but as much as u try u can't get it? I sometimes get annoyed by myself when I see that I almost never lose my interest in some paricular things, goals n therefore I never give up...
but, in ur own opinion, when do u think is the right time to give up on somethin'/anythin'?? eventually, ppl do not give up easily, but they do give up... ... Share Wit' Us

pffffffffffff tough question since the concept of giving up is not tolerated by many and always considered as some sort of failure or quitting !!!!
Actually it always depend on the situation (place, time, person )... i dont have specific example in my mind right now ... but one should focus on the long goals rather the near ones ... ya3ne look for the war not the battle, focus on the whole season not on a single game ... The problem is all people want to be heros at some point ... Heroics are for when you have no other choice, when you can afford to take on tremendous risk because there’s no alternative ... but if you have choices don't be afraid to quit, alternatives sometimes are better ... you are to be judged by your acts, your final results (choices belong to you) Thank You ...

This situation surely happened to everyone around here and here are the factors you have to weigh in if it is a goal or objective you have been working on:
1- The amount of effort/time already put into or towards that goal 2- The remaining amount or estimated amount of effort/time you expect you have to employ to finalize (whether get to that goal or get to a point where you know it is impossible to reach it) the journey to that goal 3- The possibility of success (again estimated) It is pretty simple, most people continue pursuing a goal simply because they have put already a lot of effort into it. That is not necessarily a bad logic since if you are 90% through to finalizing the journey towards that goal, it might be wiser to continue even with a relatively low expected possibility of success. However if you find that you have a low possibility of success (can be determined by being objective about one's abilities and studying similar cases) and the amount of effort needed is more than the one already employed or put towards that goal, it is wiser to give up (People call that damage-control where you accept the effort and time already lost because by that you avoid losing more time and effort towards a goal with a low expected possibility of success) |
