For a while Turkish dramas- especially Noor took over the homes of many Arabs and Muhannad won the hearts of many Arab women. But now there is an interesting debate about whether the return of Bab El Hara in its third season has managed to put a stop to the crawling of Turkish dramas into Arab countries !
Did Abu Shehab take over from Muhannad as the man children respect and women adore ? Perhaps ! Some have argued that Turkish drama was merely the way Arabs were going to cope without their dose of things like Bab El Hara. What do you think: has ‘Bab El Hara made people forget about shows like Noor ? |

These are cliched, unoriginal, stupid and brain-damaging shows.
People should not watch them, and they should not even be put on TV for brain-safety reasons. But seeing how people in the Arab world go ecstatic over such stuff, then I don't know if I should blame the series or the audience it is intended for. |

But concerning "Bab el Hara" i don't agree with you, i watched this year some episodes from it and i think that "Bab El Hara" shows realistic stuff and how life used to be (or still) in the Arab world in general and in Syria specifically. in addition of that it shows you different personalities that reflect the real life society. I don't think it's a brain-damaging show, anyway everyone is free to watch whatever he wants to, but not everything not related to science and technology stuff should be considered as brain-damaging shows, take the News and Political TV shows in Lebanon for example, it's the most brain-damaging shows that have ever existed on earth .

Another reason why women should be equal to men in arab countries.
Men go to work and women watch noor and "bab el hara" :P
