Default disk partition in vista

Guyz, a friend of mine has just installed vista and while installing he devided the disk drive into two partitions, but when he logged into windows the smaller part of the disk disappeared

do u have any idea about the issue?

i did check the pc so just trying to post the problem he lives away from me

As I recall, you have to create the partitions, if you keep the memory deleted, it wont appear under windows so this is why it would disappear.

I think that the second partition has an unknown file system type so vista is unable to see it...
Use Partition Magic to fix things up...
