Too little or too much of something is bad. We all know that. So, if you are an insomniac you know you have a problem. If you are an over sleeper, well you could be in big trouble as well. You’d probably ask, what then is the right amount of sleep ? Well, according to the research done by Daniel Kripke at the Scripps Clinic Sleep Center in La Jolla, California, less than 6.5 hours and more than 7.5 hours of sleep don’t do any good to your life span. There are many health risks associated with these two sleeping patterns, like obesity, heart disease, and depression.
Although the research was not able to pinpoint which pattern was more harmful, it is clear from the data that both involve great risks. So, if you want to stay on the safe side, moderation is the key. Live longest by sleeping between 6.5 hours to 7.5 hours. The actual cause and reason for this is not yet clear. It is just well to emphasize that if you want to have a long mortality have the right amount of sleep. Not too long and not too short ! |
