For the cheapest laptops go for acer.

The best laptops are Desktops , rayye7 rasak and get a pc , save lot of money and earn 100% more performance and even more!

I got a Dell Inspiron 1525n:
2.4ghz Core 2 Duo T8300
3gb ram
320gb HDD
X3100 Integrated Intel Graphics (not bad i played many games on it ,COD4,RA3,HL2 )
and all the additional stuff(webcam,memory card reader)
its actually pretty fast!
price 1160$$$

I have had a mcbook pro for almost a year and by far this is the best laptop I ever had. no problems whatsoever! in here in schools, most students are switching to mac, faculty are also switching to mac (especially in departments of computer science, computer and electrical engineering).
