John Cena Admits The FU's Name Was Changed For Kids

SI.com did an interview with John Cena today. He talked about a lot of things pertaining to mainstream sports and his movies, but was also asked about changing the name of his finisher, saying, "It was totally my call. It's actually Attitude Adjustment. I realize that our audience has changed now and when I look out past the ring now I see so many children."

"Originally the FU was a pun in response to Brock Lesnar's move [The F5]," Cena continued. "He used to wrestle in the WWE. I never really called it that. It's something I said once and the announcers picked it up. I know that kids are watching my every move and there are a lot of parents know their kids look up to me and I know a lot of people watch our program with closed eyes and I kind of live by the motto -- "Hustle Loyalty Respect." If someone is out of line, I think instead of giving them an FU, it's better to give them an attitude adjustment."

i HATE this guy and i think the wwe should rethink the while idea of making him the "new face" of wwe and make start loosing matches becoz i'm really bored of seeing cena retain hin championship time after time and how about returning to the classic wwe belt not the current one design by cena

Following what transpired at the Royal Rumble, WWE officials have started planning matches for WrestleMania 25.

There have been discussions of a Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy, Shawn Michaels vs. JBL or Undertaker, Edge vs. Triple H for the WWE Title, Jack Swagger vs. Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Title and a "Money in the Bank" match. John Cena could face Chris Jericho with the Mickey Rourke plans recently falling off, or be involved in a triple threat match with JBL and Shawn Michaels.

Steve Austin is still scheduled to have a farewell match at WrestleMania. The name that keeps popping up in meetings for his opponent is Randy Orton since he is already scheduled to be in the main event. There are no plans for a Hogan vs. Austin match. WWE has pitched the idea in the past for an Austin vs. Rock match as a 25th anniversary special match. Jim Ross recently said that The Rock has no interest in wrestling again, so it appears the company has reached out to him but failed.

- Richard sent the following: I was just watching the ESPN NASCAR Now show airing today and they said that WWE wrestler John Cena is going to be a celebrity participant in the ESPN.com stock car challenge fantasy game.

- WWE: the Music Vol. 9, “Voices,” placed surprisingly high on the Billboard music charts for its debut last week. The CD sold approximately 26,000 units, which beat last year’s album on opening week. Volume 8 debuted last March with approximately 20,000 units sold. At the top of last week’s charts was Bruce Springsteen’s new album, “Working on a Dream.” The CD features the title track for the film “The Wrestler,” which won the Golden Globe for Best Song but got snubbed by the Academy Awards. The album sold 224,000 units and got a ton of hype from Springsteen’s performance at the NFL Super Bowl on Sunday.

- Nick Hogan is back behind the wheel, according to ABC Action News in Tampa, Florida. A spokesperson for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in Tallahassee told ABC that Nick was granted a permit that allows him to drive to and from work. No word yet on his employment status. The original plea bargain agreement he accepted from the John Graziano trial suspended his license for three years.
