The Lebanese founder of Yamli.com, Habib Haddad, was selected at the World Economic Forum to join a list of 200 outstanding young leaders from around the world.
Haddad founded Yamli.com in 2007 with the vision of empowering the Arabic language and users on the web. He has also been involved in humanitarian activities, such as starting Relief Lebanon, a grass roots effort to support the relief operations in Lebanon during the Israel-Hizbullah war in 2006. Haddad also co-founded INLET (International Network of Lebanese Entrepreneurs and Technologists), an organization geared towards promoting entrepreneurship and leadership for the Arab world in general and Lebanon in particular. "I am honored to be selected as a Young Global Leader and I am eager to engage with the YGL community. I have always been passionate about entrepreneurship and hope that along with fellow YGLs, we will be able to help foster entrepreneurship activities in the Middle East and North Africa. I am also excited to continue to promote the Arabic web, which I believe has a bright future lying ahead," said Haddad. The honor, bestowed each year by the Forum, recognizes and acknowledges between 200 and 300 outstanding young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world. The Forum has nominated Young Global Leaders from 71 countries in 2009, including business leaders, as well as leaders from government, academia, non-profit organizations, media and society. The list of honorees this year includes people like F1 star Michael Schumacher, Mark Zuckerberg Founder and CEO of Facebook, and golf legend Tiger Woods. |

I use Yamli almost daily, it's a very useful tool especially for those who don't have arabic keyboards or so slow at it like myself.
I had some email contact with Habib Haddad few months ago concerning a project i was working on. His idea is really briliant!
