ok from inside sources.
Modems are being brought to LB.
waiting for bidders to acquire lisence from ogero (possibly in 2 weeks).
DSL WILL be working in LB before new yr.
Ogero will give to ISPs which will in turn give to end user, 4000 ports expected to be released first in all LB.
Prices (ul and dl are same speed
128K: 2GB dl limit / month -> 35,000LL
256K : 3GB -> 50,000LL
512K : 4GB -> 75,000LL

there is also a ul limit which is around 15% of the dl limit.
the limits are there so ppl would not buy end user accts and start distributing, expecting them to be gone in a year or so (if DSL kicks in hard).

If u exceed ur limit additional 500LL per 10MB is added to ur bill Smile

Mr hmade didn't want to do it!! they have everything they need to give us the dsl! but they r afraid, coz maybe the lebanese will take a look on international sites, and will read all the newspapers and then no more work for the lighers!!
they can't tell us chou ma badon! and that's why they r not doin it!

besides, we have about 3 providers in our area providing 256kbps unlimited for 40 bucks.
nothing important.
i prefer to keep my 150kb/s down speed and 30kb/s upload speed average for 44$/month
750 mb per day + huge ftp server.

very expensive but it will be a good thing for me,
now i'm paying 25$/month for 25 hours and a speed of 33.6kbps.
i'll take the first package and it will be less expensive for me.
i hope it works at least.

we cannot compare prices with other countries.
I think it is good as a start and after ppl join and money cir4culates and limits complaints we will get no limits :P
the only problem is that ISPs in our country SHOULD compete! what they do is agree amongst each other to set a specified price so they can make more profit, i think this is bull and should be banned by the law.

Not to tease you, my internet conxion is 11Mbps, i pay $60 a month..:P our fone company gives us 600 free minutes + unlimited minutes in weekends and nights for $50 a month. but with all that id rather live in lebanon even if they forced me to live in 7ay ilsellom

in usa, u can get 3mbps connection for 19$/month
