Just like Cappuccino said before, u don't wake up someday and have the choice to be straight or gay. It's not a gay person's fault if he/she is attracted to his/her sex. This isn't a decision, it's a matter of feelings and hormones. European countries have accepted it to be natural and i support them since the matter is not in the gays' hands. I admitt it's a lil bit bizzare but it's not something like cigarettes or drugs to be cured, this is just the way they are. Sooner or later Lebanon will accept it as well.
Tawa said before that 100% sure gays will not have sex in public, if they're gay that doesn't make them weak-minded. Like straight people don't do it in public, gays won't do it either. In the end God gave them brains as well...

I just want to add something, we're not the ones who judges gay people if they are sinning or not, it's God, all we have to do is treat them just like everyone else, cause treating someone badly is a sin

I don't want to be gay, but I learned to accept myself as others have learned to accept me and as more people will do with time. It's not that big time, we are patient, and sometimes we don't care too. Mesh daroureh ndal ne7na el mazloumin! We can sometimes disregard ignorance and look at the bright side of our life, live with our lovely friends and hopefully accepting family Now that makes me want to stay gay, and be who I am. I love myself hehe

God wants us to multiply at enormous rates and then fill the planet? And then have more povery in the world and more population and and and? How do you know God's own will? The Church itself has been wrong at knowing that and has done millions of mistakes over the past 2 millenia. Therefore, we cannot say what God wants. Maybe he made gay people just so they will limit the population growth in a way? I am not asking the whole world to turn gay! I am not asking ANYONE to turn gay. This is because: "once gay, always gay" and "once straight, always straight".

As for the children issue you mentioned, I sadly realize that through a gay relationship, I cannot have children. Yet, I cannot love a woman. I won't marry a woman and lie to her and turn her entire life into a lie And just so you know, many straight couples choose not to get children, or can't get children? If you consider those who are sterile, don't people (at least in Lebanon) say: "Heik Allah baddo"? Whether this is true or not, they are faced with this reality and they can't change it. Should we throw them out of the society, hit them, jail them, provoke them, discriminate against them? No! We endulge them and love them, because they are different and they feel lonely. No gay person has ever loved himself at first, until he learned about the cruelty of the world and their IGNORANCE.

As for "yet7asharo fik", if a gay guy knows you're straight, he won't come close to you (from the sexual/emotional aspect). Not totally discarding your point of view, here's something that happens a lot. Consider a gay guy who has a crush on pre-supposedly straight man. Trust me, he thinks 9999999999 times about it before even looking at the guy and telling him about his feelings. He knows the person might be GAY or STRAIGHT but he can't be absolutetly sure about it. And if he knows you're straight, he'll back off by himself. No need to get cockroaches into business LOL.

What kinds of rights we are asking for? We are simply asking for the right to exist within our society without being discriminated against. It happens a LOT in Lebanon that gay people get kicked out of their house by their family due to their sexual orientation. Their friends reject them, and the society alienates them. On top of that, the Lebanese Penal Code (Article 534) is being used to prosecute gay people. The penalty is a fine and up to 2 years of jail. Trials are delayed a lot and gay people go through a lot of painful processes.

So basically, Helem works on:
1. Properly updating or removing Article 534 to allow gay people to exist in Lebanon.
1. Clearing homophobia from the society. (It does take time, effort, patience, and a big heart)

(Article 534 of the Penal code criminalizes "unnatural sexual intercourse" which is interpreted as being anal sex and regarded as a behavior inherent to homosexuality. This clause stipulates the following: "Any sexual intercourse against nature is punished with up to one year of imprisonment." The article is also applied on lesbians too, although anal intercourse is not involved.)
