السيد نصرالله: أؤكد أن تحالفاتنا الإنتخابية ستكون شفافة وعلنية وواضحة ولا شيء تحت الطاولة ونحن ملتزمين بلوائح المعارضة في كل الدوائر ومن الطبيعي حتى في الدوائر التي لا مرشحين لنا فيها أن نساعد حلفائنا ونشكل ماكينة إنتخابية إذ ان الهدف هو أن تحصل المعارضة أغلبية نيابية، وبعض الذين علقوا على ماكينتنا الإنتخابية في بعض المناطق أظن أنه أخلاقيا وقانونيا من حقنا أن نشكل ماكينة

السيد نصرالله: في ترشيحاتنا نأخذ بعض الأمور في عين الإعتبار ونحن عندما نقدم مرشحين نحن لا نقدم مرشحي عائلات مع احترامنا للعائلات ولا مرشحي عشائر ومدن فهؤلاء مرشحو حزب الله، ومن نقدمهم للإنتخابات النيابية فهذا المقعد ليس مكافأة أو جائزة تربية فالموقع النيابي هو موقع مسؤولية في حزب الله

Sayyed Nasrallah Announces Hezbollah Candidates for Elections


Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah declared on Wednesday the Resistance party's candidates for the forthcoming parliamentary elections and said that Hezbollah has completed its electoral program to be declared during the few coming days by the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohamad Raad.

Speaking through a TV screen, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah's main goal was that the national opposition gets the larger number of parliamentary seats, emphasizing that Hezbollah does not seek to increase the number of MPs in its bloc even though it is able to do so.

The candidates' list announced by Sayyed Nasrallah included the bloc's actual head MP Mohamad Raad (Nabatieh), Minister Mohamad Fneish and Nawwaf Moussawi (Tyr), MP Hasan Fadlallah (Nabatieh), Ali Fayyad (Hasbayya), Hussein Moussawi as well as MPs Hussein Hajj Hasan, Nawwar Sahili and Ali Miqdad (Baalbeck), MP Ali Ammar (Baabda), Amin Cherri (Beirut-2).

ELECTIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT BUT NOT FATEFUL

Sayyed Nasrallah began his speech by determining Hezbollah's perspective of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

His eminence emphasized that the forthcoming elections are very important. "Just like all elections all over the world, the Lebanese elections should be democratic," Sayyed Nasrallah said, noting that the elections would result in a new Parliament and therefore a new government. "Thus, we are renewing our ruling system," his eminence said, recalling that the Parliament is an important institution in the Lebanese system. "The Parliament elects the President, appoints the Prime Minister, gives its confidence to the cabinet, plays an important role in all legislative fields."

Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated the opposition's rejection of describing the elections as historic or fateful. "However, this doesn't mean that the elections aren't very important," his eminence emphasized. "It's the Lebanese people's duty to take part in the elections and vote and bring about new MPs," his eminence added.

OUR ELECTORAL PROGRAM ALREADY COMPLETED

Hezbollah Secretary General then announced that the Resistance party has completed its electoral platform lately. His eminence said that the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohamad Raad would assume the responsibility of declaring it during the few coming days since it needs time to be read and discussed.

According to Sayyed Nasrallah, Hezbollah's electoral platform includes an important political introduction followed by a number of headlines that tackle the political, administrative, economic and financial reforms. Under these general titles, the platform tackled several titles such as the electoral law, the Lebanese judicial system, decentralization, education, environment, media.

Sayyed Nasrallah made it clear that the mentioned platform obligates only Hezbollah, regardless of his allies in the national opposition. "However, our allies will find that the platform also expresses their own views," his eminence said, while announcing that he would deliver speeches in a weekly basis on electoral issues.

CREDIBILITY COMES FIRST

The Resistance leader, meanwhile, said that the essential issue nowadays, even before the electoral platform, is the credibility. "Most elections in Lebanon are based on the credibility more than the electoral platform," his eminence pointed out, noting that many declare platform and then do the complete opposite. "A big part of politicians does not fulfill its promises."

Sayyed Nasrallah said that Hezbollah was a known side with known achievements and history. "We don't say we don't make mistakes, which is impossible since we are human," his eminence said but added that the Resistance party was known for its credibility, trust, honesty, transparency, loyalty and fidelity.

Sayyed Nasrallah said that some parties were trying to stain the picture of Hezbollah worldwide. "Some media outlets even accuse Hezbollah of any crime until Hezbollah proves its innocence. This is injustice." But the Resistance leader assured all supporters that the scheme has failed until the moment, saying that "Hezbollah picture remains shining after it offered the Lebanese and the whole community historic achievements and victories that made them preserve dignity and pride."

WE WANT OPPOSITION TO WIN IN ELECTIONS

According to Sayyed Nasrallah, the main goal is the national opposition's triumph in the elections. "The opposition's victory in the elections means protecting national, economic, political and social choices," his eminence emphasized. "Gaining opposition majority in parliament is a national goal, not for sectarian purposes," he added.

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that the opposition's gain in parliament keeps the door strongly open for a national coalition government. However, "if government loyalists win the majority, this means the door will be closed for a partnership government," his eminence said.

"To prevent monopoly, the opposition should win the majority in the elections, because it is serious and honest in its promises for partnership," Sayyed Nasrallah said.

WE DON'T SEEK TO INCREASE HEZBOLLAH MPs

"We want the opposition to get the larger number of seats," Sayyed Nasrallah concluded from the previous axis. "It goes without saying that we do not seek to increase the number of MPs in the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc even though we are able to do so, the important for us is that the oppositions wins," his eminence said.

Sayyed Nasrallah said that Hezbollah expressed readiness to forsake some seats for the interests of some allies, "but to an extent that does not harm our image, size and effectiveness in parliament."

His eminence said that the parliament representation is different than the cabinet's one. "The whole issue has to do with proving to the world the popularity of Hezbollah," Sayyed Nasrallah said, recalling that there were no ethical standards in the battle. "If we don't have MPs, the West will come and say that Hezbollah doesn't have real representation."

HEZBOLLAH DOESN'T INTERFERE IN NAMING ALLIES' CANDIDATES

Hezbollah Secretary General then tackled the whole opposition situation. His eminence said that the opposition's electoral list would be declared successively, noting that most districts were already settled.
Sayyed Nasrallah denied rumors that circulated in media outlets since the launch of the national opposition movement claiming that Hezbollah was the opposition's master. "This is not true," Sayyed Nasrallah said, adding that there are no absolute leaders within the opposition. "I don't know if this is the case in the loyalty bloc and I don't want to accuse anyone of anything without having proofs."

His eminence made it clear that Hezbollah doesn't interfere in naming the opposition's candidates in the various districts. "We cooperate and deliberate but we don't impose or intervene in the lists," his eminence said, adding that Hezbollah doesn't put a veto on any name. "Everyone in the opposition is our friend," his eminence stressed. "Even in the regions where we are forming the opposition's lists, we have our say on our candidates, but not the candidates of other parties. When we say that this seat is for a specific party, we don't name the candidate."

Sayyed Nasrallah, meanwhile, reiterated that Hezbollah is committed to his alliance with the whole opposition all over Lebanon. "Our electoral alliances are crystal, clear, public and transparent," his eminence said. "Even in the districts where we don't have candidates but we have supporters, it's our right to logistically back our allies," Sayyed Nasrallah said. "This is our national and ethical duty towards our allies," his eminence emphasized. "The goal is that the opposition wins and Hezbollah should work to achieve this goal," he explained, denying that such support was "provocative to anyone."

PARLIAMENTARY SEATS ARE NOT AWARDS TO ANYONE

In his last axis, Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that Hezbollah doesn't choose its candidates based on family or tribal history.

"Hezbollah chooses candidates who enjoy the party's confidence," his eminence explained, stressing at the same time that parliamentary seats are not awards to anyone. "The candidates that we choose are aware that being an MP is a huge responsibility that they will be held accountable for on doomsday," Sayyed Nasrallah said.

His eminence then read out the names of Hezbollah candidates for the elections, thanking all the actual Hezbollah MPs who would not re-run and saluting the role they have played during the four last years (Hasan Hobballah, Mohamad Haidar and Jamal Taqsh).

Sayyed Nasrallah also announced that the candidates, who were assuming other responsibilities within Hezbollah, would be immediately replaced. Thus, Hezbollah international relations official Nawwaf Moussawi is replaced by former MP Ammar Mussawi, the responsible of Hezbollah's consultative center for studies and documentation Ali Fayyad would be replaced by Abdel Halim Fayyad, the municipality work's official Hussein Moussawi (Abu Hisham) would be replaced by Hussein Shami.
