Fantasy over Reality??

There is a guy on facebook who has the following BIOGRAPHY:

I find that sad. He puts his belief in an imaginary being, one he's never met in the flesh n only knows by faith, ahead of his devotion to his wife n children.

That's one way in which religion distorts n diminishes a person's view of reality.

Sorry Justin I have to disagree religion does not dimish a person. I agree that putting religion in the first place is kind of wrong on a CV or facebook profile, because it shows how fanatic you are, but this person/God is the base of the christian beliefs.
In my opinion your religion is sth very personnal that you practice in the privacy of your home or in your church or whatever.
And on the other hand any believer puts God first ahead of everyone else, including me because i am a believer and this does not distort my vision of reality and my commitment to anyone on the contrary it enforces it and helps me deal with every single thing.

the title should be edited to something more appropriate
you can't just say religion is a fantasy and take it as a fact
to many religion is a way of life and devotion
now if you want to drag the discussion into whether God exists or not, then the thread should have been made in a different way

in the end yostofel this guy, personnaly I'd put gaming first

that's actualy my way of life

i did not mean by religion as fantasy. i meant by fantasy like, dreaming, or believing in UNtouchable things, ppl, Gods, etc...

when i read the title i thought u were asking whether we would prefer to live in this real life or in fantasy life "Imaginary" like the one in movies and video games :P

topic: everyone has the right to believe, there's nothing wrong when someone puts religion before his family, and the biggest example is the Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail.

I won't believe in anything I don't see, hear, feel or touch or smell
especialy an invisible superbeing
and especialy since it's a cycle of my parents teaching me at the age of 3, and me teaching my children at a small age.
take an educated 20 year old who has never heard of God and tell him the adam and eve story, and explain to him that man was banned from heaven because he ate an apple, he'll laugh at you

assuming the story was true, and assuming that satan was also kicked from heaven for disobedience, looking at these stories criticly the explanation is
both humans and the devil paid the price for asking for freedome of choice, away from slavery and obediance to a master
which is what has been applauded throughout history in all revolutions, and what is in all our natures, and it is what we are doing in lebanon(rafid wisayet w ta3a)
but in religion, it becomes a shame. it is forbidden to ask for respect from God, without having someone bowing and begging for someone else

But not religion more like "5warne w shyou5"
like the editing of the bible or the civil marriage in Lebanon or how in "tawratt" it is right to kill women and children, sometimes we feel that things are uncontrollable by us we can only explain events by saying "iradit 2allah " or "2allah satar" so the thing about religion is a personal thing but we should all remember that we are HUMAN before Christians or Muslims or what ever...
Relationships between humans should be horizontal and who wants would have a vertical one with his god....
