Ferguson: Rooney’s ruled out

Tuesday, 6 April:
Wayne Rooney has failed to take part in Manchester United’s final pre-match training session, reports from England at midday on Tuesday said. However, at that point in the day, there still appeared a remote chance that the striker might play some part in Wednesday evening’s meeting with Bayern. According to the Daily Mail, Rooney successfully came through a secret training session on Monday, during which the England star managed a first few laps jogging around the practice ground. The player might yet be named among the subs, the paper said.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson himself has put an end to the speculation regarding Rooney’s fitness. Addressing the obligatory pre-match news conference, the United boss said there was “no chance” of the club’s top scorer facing Bayern. Rooney had made great progress, Ferguson said, but it was still far too risky for him to play now. Sir Alex hinted that up-and-coming starlet Federico Macheda could start the match in Rooney’s place.

كشفت وسائل إعلام بريطانية عن احتمال عودة وين روني بشكل مفاجئ إلى صفوف مانشستر يونايتد في مباراته مع بايرن ميونخ الألماني في دوري أبطال أوروبا لكرة القدم بعد غد الأربعاء.

وكتبت صحيفة ديلي تلغراف هذا المضمون تحت عنوان "أمل بعودة مفاجئة لروني أمام بايرن", في حين قالت صحيفة ديلي ميل "يونايتد يختبر روني للعودة أمام بايرن".

وكان النجم الإنجليزي (24 عاما) قد أصيب في أربطة الكاحل خلال مباراة الذهاب مع بايرن في ميونخ التي انتهت بفوز الفريق الألماني 2-1 يوم الثلاثاء الماضي.

وخلال تلك المباراة, سجل روني هدف فريقه في الدقيقة الثانية, قبل أن يغادر الملعب مصابا في الوقت المحتسب بدل الضائع, وقبل ثوان من تسجيل هدف الفوز لبايرن.

ونقل عن مصادر قريبة من مانشستر يونايتد أن روني تعافى بشكل أسرع من المتوقع ولديه فرصة للعب مباراة الأربعاء, رغم أن المدرب إليكس فيرغسون قال يوم الجمعة الماضي إنه سيغيب عن الملاعب أسبوعين أو ثلاثة.

just want to comment enno nchalla ma7ada byensab, and nchalla rooney yel3ab, i really don't like when stars get injured and other people like it, on the other hand a team must be able to win or at least play a good game without key players. I hate such games, it makes me so nervous...
Bayern will surely score tonight, but I'm worried about the defence...
