Germany coach Joachim Loew has announced his provisional 27-man squad for this summer's World Cup. The Nationalelf's coach will scrap four names from the list before the start of the tournament.

As expected, Loew has given Bayern Munich goalkeeper Hans-Joerg Butt a call-up to replace Bayer Leverkusen's Rene Adler in the squad. Adler is being plagued by a rib injury and won't be match fit in time for South Africa.

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack is the only player who doesn't ply his trade in the Bundesliga. Lazio midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger has lost his spot in the Nationalelf as a result of his poor form this term.

the german squad was missing Ballack and all bayern and werder bremen players. (that's a lot of players!).
Cacau scored 2 goals, the third was an OG.

Ballack is ruled out of the world cup due to a torn ligament. the intentional foul was committed by German Born Kevin Prince Boatang who plays for Ghana during the FA cup final, which happens to play in group D along with Germany. Ironically, Jerome Boatang, Kevin's Brother, plays for germany.

i don't think kevin will dare to enter germany again.
